At Orangebag we strive for a more sustainable fashion industry. For us, sustainability means offering more sustainable products and materials. We have put together a selection of articles and labeled them with 'more sustainable'. When an article is classified by us with this label, this means that the article contains more sustainable or recycled material.
We distinguish the following more sustainable materials and production methods:
Organic Cotton: No synthetic pesticides or other agents that could harm the environment or workers are used in the production of Organic Cotton.
Tencel™ Lyocell: Tencel Lyocell fibers are extracted from sustainably grown wood using a unique closed loop system that recovers and reuses the solvents used, minimizing environmental impact.
Tencel ™ Modal: Tencel Modal fibers are extracted from naturally grown beech wood through an environmentally responsible “pulp-to-fiber” process, which is self-sufficient in energy and recovers co-products from components of the wood. All Tencel Modal fibers are composed of natural material and biodegradable.
Ecovero ™: Lenzing Ecovero Viscose fibers are made from wood and pulp, from certified and controlled sources. Lenzing Ecovero fibers are certified with the EU eco-label, because they meet high environmental environmental standards throughout their life cycle: from raw material extraction to production, distribution and disposal. The production of Ecovero uses 50% less water than normal viscose.
Lenzing™ Lyocell, Lenzing™ Modal, Lenzing™ Viscose: The Lenzing Group produces Lyocell and Modal cellulose fibers of botanical origin through environmentally responsible processes from sustainably sourced wood. Wood is the basis for everything the Lenzing Group produces. Wood pulp from the forest is converted into biobased Lenzing Lyocell and Modal fibres.
Recycled material: existing material is reused. With products in our collection, we mainly come across recycling of PET bottles and car tires that are processed into polyester.
